      TEAM THAD (16's) 2014

Under Armour Logo

Team Thad goes 7-0 in Panama City wining The Gulf Coast Challenge - July 27, 2014

One of the top 17 Under programs in the country coached by third year coach Norton Hurd who compiled an 55-4 record in his first full year of coaching the program in 2012. Team Thad will be one of the top Under Armour teams under the Under Armour brand. Coming off an very strong 44-10 (2013) campaign that included 2 championships in national marquee tournaments from Peach State in South Carolina and Future 150 in Birmingham, Alabama. Also National Runner up at the AAU Nationals in Orlando, Florida and runner up at the prestigious Spiece Hoop Fest in Fort Wayne, Indiana were major events in the record books. The roster consist of 4 kids ranked in the Top 150 of all national polls and 1 sophomore ranked in the Top 25 of ESPN. Assistant coach Chris Chiozza, whose son played last year and committed to Florida is on staff and will help tremendously with his high basketball IQ. knowledge of the game.

Jaylen Fisher @ Bolton

Team Thad ranked No. 19 at Five Star Basketball

Sophomore Jaylen Fisher (6'2 - 185 lbs. Bolton, espn #23 & Future 150 #11) had an very impressive high school season at  Bolton (22-9) and with offers already from Memphis, Baylor, UCONN, Florida, & Tennessee to name a few and list will only get bigger as the season progresses. Last time Bolton had a  winning record of that magnitude was in 1986 when Sylvester Gray (Miami Heat)was at the school and 2 consecutive TSSAA State Championships being recorded in the books. Fisher had great showings at all major national camps from Adidas Nations and coming away with a top 5 ranking at the guard spot respectively. In the open court Fisher can take anyone in the country with his strong build and long reach that translates into solid flashes to the goal. When defenses collapse, his pinpoint laser passes turn into multiple assists accordingly from all over the court to dunks and long range shots that can change the landscape of the basketball games. His outside game has improved and is a consistent threat from anywhere on the court. This kid is going to be very special compadres and when his high school career ends he will be a  Top 10 guard in the rankings!!!! Junior LaGerald Vick (6'4 - 175 lbs. Douglass, rivals #) who also holds offers from Memphis & Ole Miss had a great high school season as one of the top scorers in the state. Vick's beautiful rotation and high elevation on his jump shot is one of the best Hoopers staff has seen and athletic drives to the goal will give opponents difficulty to defend. Junior Terrance Davis (6'4 - 185 lbs., Future 150 # ) who is one of the top receivers in the state with offers for basketball and football from the elite programs around the country. His athletic build and explosiveness around and to the goal are just as good as anyone in the country hands down.

Future 150 Champions April 2014

Junior Andrew Fleming Ensworth, Tennessee (Iowa commit)

Junior Andrew Fleming (6''5 - 210 lbs. Ensworth, TN. - "Iowa" - Future 150 #) had an extremely successful year at Ensworth High School winning 2 TSSAAState Championships in a row. His strong upper build to coincide with his great outside shot that is deadly from all over the court in strong fashion will mesh well in the Big Ten as for their style of play accordingly. Jeremiah Martin (6'2 - 175 lbs. Mitchell ,Future 150 #50) had an extremely great high school season wining a gold ball. His wiry left hand motion is a task for opponents to hold and Martin does a little of everything on both sides of the ball compiling numbers like a stat stuffer that win ball games.

Junior Jordan Varnado (6''6 - 205 lbs. Haywood County, Tennessee Future 150 #) joined Team Thad for this highly anticipated summer circuit season for the Pitt Jam Fest in Pittsburgh, PA. In his first game with Team Thad he recorded a double double on 17 points and 15 rebounds in a spectacular performance against We R 1. Varnado has a solid overall game with nothing fancy but hard nosed and straight up with sizing his opponents a plus for him. He can drive to the goal in strong fashion, hit the mid range soundly and can shoot from long range with high percentage.

Naba Echols capturing MVP @ TSSAA State Championship

Naba Echols (5'9 - 160 lbs., Mitchell - rivals #) is one of the most solid overall point guards the Hoopers staff has seen with his gift of handling the ball in any situation brought before him. Echols earned MVP of Division A TSSAA State Championship Game! Basketball IQ is out the roof coaches and pay attention to this young man compadres!! A special to Team Thad Bio is the best 3 some guard sets in recent Hoopers History at Mitchell High School with teammate Kylan Phillips (5'9 - 165 lbs. Mitchell ,Future 150 #) who plays for the MemphisHoopers.com travel team. Mitchell High School will come in at Number 1 in MemphisHoopers.com Preseason Poll.

Nic Marshall (Lexington, TN.  High School)

Junior Nic Marshall (7'0 - 225 lbs. Lexington, TN. Future 150 #)  game has improved ten fold from last year with his foot work and soft touch from the paint. Marshall is averaging over 2 blocks a game and this young man is going to be a major force in the middle respectively. Junior Og Anunoby (6'7 - 195 lbs. Jefferson City, MO. Future 150 #) dynamic play and strong offensive skill not only around the rim but all all over the court will  make him a vital part of Team Thad going into the stretch of the summer circuit season.
