Since 1999, Memphis Hoopers has proudly fielded an unsigned senior team, competing in the summer circuit and providing a platform for young athletes to showcase their talent. This is Harold Rivera, Director of MemphisHoopers.com. With a rich history dating back to 1999 (originally acghoopers.com from 1999-2002), our archives are a testament to our legacy.
Over the years, hundreds of young men from our program have pursued higher education, using basketball as a springboard for scholarship opportunities across all divisions—Division I, II, III, JUCO, and NAIA. Every game is recorded and shared across multiple platforms, ensuring that athletes and recruiters alike can access and revisit these moments.
Many seniors are often overlooked during their high school basketball careers, even though they are fully prepared to compete at the next level. The level they reach depends on their commitment and how seriously they pursue their dreams—remember, basketball isn’t for everyone. MemphisHoopers.com provides a platform for these athletes to showcase their skills to colleges across the country.
Our staff attends the nation’s largest tournaments, including Real Deal, Big Foot Hoops, Elevate Hoops, Spiece Hoops, and the Under Armour Invitational. We’ve built strong relationships with tournament directors to ensure our teams are placed in top-tier pools and venues, maximizing exposure to college coaches. After all, how many coaches came to your high school games? The reality is, it often depends on school performance or a standout player grabbing attention, leaving many talented athletes unnoticed.
During the short summer circuit season, as players sign with colleges, some will naturally move on from the MemphisHoopers.com roster. We maintain a travel team of no more than 9 players at a time, ensuring ample playing time and maximum exposure. This approach differs from traditional high school teams, where coaching philosophies can sometimes limit a player’s potential. Our track record speaks for itself, with high signing rates for both seniors and underclassmen. Additionally, MemphisHoopers.com serves as a feeder team for Team Thad, offering even more opportunities for player development.
This year’s event, like in past seasons, will attract top colleges from around the country and region, offering players a valuable opportunity to be scouted for the MemphisHoopers.com Travel Team. With a limited number of April events, this showcase helps players build their resumes and gain exposure. Although Division I schools are restricted from attending these events until sanctioned evaluation periods later in the summer, opportunities still abound. Just last year, a player from Mitchell went from unknown to a rising star in a single weekend—proof that being in the right place at the right time can change everything. As always, expect offers to come through at this event!
